What is Mailchimp and Why Use This Integration?
Mailchimp is an email marketing platform used to manage subscriber lists, send campaigns, and run automated email sequences. When you connect Mailchimp to a LanderLab landing page, every lead that submits your form is instantly added as a subscriber to the Mailchimp audience you choose, ready for your email flows without any manual import. Mailchimp uses OAuth to connect. This means instead of pasting an API key, you log in to your Mailchimp account directly and authorize LanderLab to access it. You will be redirected to Mailchimp to complete the authorization, then brought back to LanderLab to finish the setup.Mailchimp integrations are saved globally in your account. Once you authorize your Mailchimp account, you can reuse it across multiple landing pages without going through the OAuth flow again.
How to Add Mailchimp
The Mailchimp setup has two phases: authorizing your Mailchimp account via OAuth, then configuring your audience, tags, and field mapping inside LanderLab.Phase 1: Authorize Your Mailchimp Account
Go to your landing page
Navigate to Landing Pages and click the name of the landing page where you want to add Mailchimp.
Select Mailchimp
From the list of available integrations, find Mailchimp (labeled as “Send leads to Mailchimp in real time”) and click on it.
Click Add Account
Click Add Account. You will be redirected away from LanderLab to the Mailchimp authorization page.
Log in to Mailchimp
On the Mailchimp login page, enter your Username and click Log In, then enter your password on the next screen. You can also use Continue with Google if your Mailchimp account is linked to Google.
Authorize LanderLab
After logging in, Mailchimp will show an authorization screen asking you to allow LanderLab access to your account. Review the permissions and click Allow.
This grants LanderLab read and write access to your Mailchimp account so it can add subscribers to your audiences. You can revoke this access at any time from your Mailchimp account settings under Connected Sites.
Phase 2: Configure Your Audience and Field Mapping
Once you are back in LanderLab after the OAuth redirect, you will go through a 3-step wizard to finish the setup.Step 1: Configure Audience and Tags
Set a name for this integration
The Name field will be pre-filled with your Mailchimp account email. You can leave it as is or change it to something more descriptive (e.g. “Mailchimp - Newsletter Subscribers”).
Select your Audience
Click the Audience dropdown and select the Mailchimp audience (list) where new subscribers should be added. This is required.
Add Tags (optional)
Once you select an audience, the Tags field will become available. You can add one or more tags to automatically apply to every subscriber added through this landing page. Tags are useful for segmenting leads by campaign, traffic source, or offer.
Step 2: Map Your Fields
Map your form fields to Mailchimp fields
You will see a list of all fields from your landing page form on the left, and a dropdown to select the matching Mailchimp subscriber field on the right.Map each form field to the corresponding Mailchimp field. At minimum, map Email as it is required by Mailchimp to create a subscriber.
Fields you do not map will not be sent to Mailchimp. Use the checkboxes on the left to include or exclude individual fields.
| Form Field | Mailchimp Field |
|---|---|
| Full Name | Full Name |
| Email Address* | |
| Phone Number | Select field |
| (other form fields) | Select field |
Step 3: Review and Connect
Review your integration
The final step shows a full summary of your Mailchimp integration including the integration name, the selected audience, any tags applied, and all mapped fields. Review everything carefully before activating. If anything looks wrong, click Back to return to the previous steps and make changes.
Tips for Mailchimp Integration
- Email is required - Mailchimp cannot create a subscriber without an email address. Always map the email field and make sure your form includes an email input.
- Use tags to segment leads - Apply different tags on different landing pages to keep your Mailchimp audience organized by campaign or traffic source without
